Hand-Dyed Kawamata Silk Furoshiki

A Furoshiki is a traditional Japanese wrapping cloth celebrated for its beauty, versatility and sustainability. For centuries, it has been used to elegantly wrap gifts, carry everyday belongings, style as a scarf, adorn interiors, or transform into a reusable bag - an object that adapts effortlessly to daily life while reducing waste.

Crafted from 100% Kawamata silk, renowned as "the finest silk in the Orient," this Furoshiki showcases one of Japan's most treasured textiles. Woven in Fukushima Prefecture from lightweight parachute silk, it offers an exceptionally soft hand, luminous finish and remarkable durability.

Each piece is completed with a hand-dyed family crest by artisans in Yamagata Prefecture, honouring generations of Japanese craftsmanship. Washable and designed for everyday use, this is both a functional textile and a lasting keepsake.
